Long Beach GP – Good time...But...

A bit late and a bit long but here it is.

I've been going to races for years approximately 30...my whole life. Prior to this years Long Beach Grand Prix, I had never been to a temporary street course. Why? Well I live approximately 5 miles from the location of the San Jose Grand Prix, to which I could have taken a short ride on the light rail to the track. New media at Miller...at least for me

Ok so...normally at the track, you'd have to pry my DSLR from my cold dead hands...but, this year at Miller I 'borrowed' a video camera and decided to take a bit of video.

So while we're all patiently waiting for next season to start here's some video I shot at Miller. First bit of video is from the Thurs. test session (nice sunset in the background at the end of the session), then a little bit on the Klein Tools Pit Challenge (watch Nishy stall the R10 getting into the pit stall),...

Racing into the darkness...Why not more?

I think most would agree that one of the most unique and exciting things about American Le Mans Series racing, is racing when it's dark. The glow of the brakes, the shine of the headlights, the flash of the backfires, and the streaking by of the leader lights. A phenomenal racing experience, that is completely unique.

This unique aspect of the racing should be taken advantage of. I think the series should have more 'races into the darkness' and I think that would help bring this form...

Impressions of Miller

Most have yet to make their way out to Miller Motorsports Park, in the Utah high desert just outside of Salt Lake City. I've had the good fortune of making out there for the first two ALMS meetings in the desert. Both times we (my dad and I) road tripped out there, as we both love being on the road.
